Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree accounting required
  • At least 10 years of profession finance & control experience CPA
  • Experience with documentation and analysis of financial data
  • Experience with SOX compliance environment
  • Preferred:
  • SAP Experience
  • IFRS knowledge
  • Public Accounting experience

Job description
  • This role’s primary function is to support the financial closing process in the global business services (GBS) unit and deliveries to the business unit. Whereas the Financial Reporting and Tax departments in each country has the main responsibility for timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting, the coordinator will play a key role in understanding the totality of the financial statements delivered by GBS. This role has exposure to senior employees at the local business and corporate level.
  • This role works primarily with and supports GBS Finance and Control leaders and the business area accounting manager. Role will support the GBS accounting function with coordinating the direction and deliverables for GBS accounting. This includes ensuring consistent application of accounting principles and preparing the business area deliveries towards Corporate. This roll is a key contact for all closing matters and is required to have strong accounting understanding of the various oil and gas accounting areas. Strong understanding of business and IFRS accounting principles for the E&P business is required.
  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas accounting processes (i.e. Production and Revenue Accounting; Joint Venture Accounting, Fixed Assets Accounting and Financial Reporting)
  • Ensure quality and consistency in business area reporting packages
  • Assist the business area with maintaining and coordinating the quarterly accounting risk items list
  • Key involvement in the delivery of consolidated financial reporting analysis to the business area
  • Research and document significant accounting issues and provide recommendations
  • Respond to business area accounting manager requests, follow up with various functions
  • Consolidate and summarize business area consolidated balance sheet, income statement and management discussion and analysis (MD&A) based on business input.
  • Involvement with financial presentation package
  • Participate in the delivery of deviation analysis
  • Support the implementation of Corporate accounting policy and new accounting principles
  • Represent GBS AM FC in the key accounting networks
  • Support accounting process improvements within GBS FC Accounting arena
